Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 2013
An engine output of 550 hp  405 kW  makes the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S the flagship model of the Porsche SUV range Thanks to its sophisticated active suspension, this top athlete with an SUV styling surpasses the driving dynamics of many sports cars. Nonetheless, the Cayenne retains all basic characteristics of the series such as extensive off-road capabilities, high travel comfort and superior traction power.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is designed for optimum driving dynamics throughout. That's why it comes with all relevant control systems as standard. The combination of air suspension and PASM active damping control is borrowed from the Cayenne Turbo This is complemented by the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control  PDCC  which eliminates swaying in corners almost entirely resulting in improved agility and comfort The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus  PTV Plus which is also standard equipment in this model, uses variable torque distribution to the rear wheels and an electronically controlled rear differential lock which translates into more agility in all driving situations The new Cayenne Turbo S also comes with the Sport Chrono Package as standard

Exterior features and equipment of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S meet the high standards of a flagship model Numerous exterior features such as air intake grilles  headlight housing and mirror components are in black high-gloss finish. The standard 21-inch 911 Turbo II wheels with coloured Porsche crest are painted in gloss black on the inside an exclusive styling for the Cayenne Turbo S

The Porsche designers also designed two-tone leather interiors in new colours and colour distributions specifically for the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S These interior features are available in the combination black/carrera red and black/luxor beige  The two tone leather interiors exclusive to the new top model are respectively refined by matching decorative stitching in the contrasting colours carrera red and luxor beige  The Carbon interior package complements the leather features and emphasises the high quality of vehicles and materials

Supreme power for sporty dynamics

Supreme power, delivered across a wide rpm range that's the hallmark of the Cayenne series flagship model The new Cayenne Turbo S engine produces a maximum torque of 750 Nm between 2.250 rpm and 4,500 rpm the power curve peaks at 550 hp  405 kW  and 6,000 rpm

The source of this supreme power is the eight cylinder engine with 4.8 litre displacement also installed in the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo The exhaust gases from the two cylinder banks, which are arranged in a V-shape at an angle of 90 degrees are guided through a set of water-cooled turbochargers The two compressors force compressed air into the eight combustion chambers through two intercoolers resulting in an impressive power output per litre The main difference to the Cayenne Turbo engine  Compression levels were increased and the motor controller was adjusted  jointly yielding an extra 50 hp and 50 Nm of torque. The extra performance is also reflected visually in the engine compartment by ways of special engine bay styling with carbon fibre elements and a  turbo S lettering

Fast gear changes efficient drive the eight-speed Tiptronic S

Power is transmitted via an eight-speed Tiptronic S as standard Supreme agility and maximum driving pleasure are guaranteed by the very fast gear changes that are barely noticeable by the driver Fast gear changes with uninterrupted traction allow for a very agile driving style  even in automatic mode  The standard auto start/stop function demonstrates that efficiency is a priority to Porsche even for a very sporty car such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S Despite the increased power and enhanced driving performance the average consumption figures of 11.5 l/100 km are the same as those of the Cayenne Turbo

Optimised power distribution for excellent driving dynamics

The new Cayenne Turbo S is designed to translate supreme power into exceptional driving dynamics  Accordingly the new top model of the Porsche SUV range is just about fully equipped with all the technical systems that support a sporty driving style

The foundation, the interaction of power distribution and chassis, is provided by Porsche Traction Management  PTM  with active all-wheel drive and air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management  PASM  Active PTM drives the rear axle directly The multi-plate clutch is electronically controlled by an electric motor and regulates the distribution of drive power to the front axle in a fully variable manner and without fixed distribution. If slipping of the rear axle occurs, for instance when accelerating, the multi-plate clutch intervenes to direct more power to the front axle. This allows gearing of the active four-wheel drive for maximum driving dynamics, which responds before unwanted slippage occurs on either axle.

Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus optimised cornering dynamics

The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus  PTV Plus  which comes as standard in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S further enhances vehicle dynamics and stability The system uses variable torque distribution to the rear wheels and an electronically controlled rear differential lock PTV Plus improves the steering response and steering precision depending on steering angle and speed accelerator pedal position yaw rate and vehicle speed by ways of specific braking of the respective inside rear wheel This results in direct and dynamic turning into the corner The electronically controlled rear axle differential lock ensures greater driving stability at high speeds  when cornering at speed or when the wheels are spinning

Sport Chrono Package displays sporty driving visually

The standard Sport Chrono Package permits saving the performance data of the Cayenne Turbo S for example in terms of lap times or transverse and longitudinal acceleration values The Porsche Communication Management  PCM  can render a graphical analysis of the current lap times for the driver Additionally  lateral and longitudinal acceleration can also be displayed in the TFT display

Air-spring suspension with active anti-roll system

The chassis offers an even more extensive ability to cater for both sportiness and comfort This is mainly due to the special adjustment of air suspension and PASM in conjunction with new bearings and dampers The standard use of the active anti-roll system Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control  PDCC  rounds off the equipment The chassis control system enhances both driving performance and comfort as well as ensuring maximum agility and optimal balance of the car The hydraulic rotary actuators of the active stabilisers on the front and rear axle generate appropriate forces depending on the steering angle and lateral acceleration forces to counteract the lateral inclination of the vehicle This results in an extremely comfortable and sporty driving experience combined with outstanding agility throughout the driving speed range  as well as optimal cornering and balanced load change behaviour

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is fitted with power steering Plus a speed-sensitive steering system. It becomes tighter at higher speeds so that the steering remains accurate At lower speeds  however  the system permits effortless reversing and parking manoeuvres

Sporty and discreet appearance

The new Cayenne Turbo S makes its number one position plain by subtle but unmistakable visual features Distinctive features such as the widened wheel arches and the roof spoiler both painted in body color, particularly stand out

Numerous exterior elements such as the entire air intake grille including the fins and the headlight housing are painted in glossy black as standard The lower shell and the mirror arms also come with the noble looking finish The standard 21 inch 911 Turbo II wheels with coloured Porsche crest are also painted in glossy black on the inside  The two tailpipes in polished aluminum with two outlets each are another eye catcher at the rear end

Porsche offers numerous options to customise the appearance of the new Cayenne Turbo S These include darkened LED tail lights with adaptive brake light a black high-gloss exterior package  the front and rear panel in stainless steel, and sill protection in aluminium

New option  Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus  PDLS Plus  with automatic high beam

A new optional extra for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus which comes with black bi-xenon headlights The new PDLS Plus includes automatic main beam control and a junction light function over the previous active headlight system PDLS The automatic main beam control detects the light sources of vehicles ahead and oncoming vehicles by means of a camera mounted on the interior mirror and automatically switches between low and high beam light The system is activated at a speed of 65 km/h to prevent turning on of the high beams within built up areas The junction light function detects crossroads and T junctions from navigation data The system then activates the static cornering lights left and right simultaneously for optimal illumination at crossroads For T junctions  only the static cornering light on the side facing the intersection is activated

Exclusive two-tone leather interiors

The interior of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S can be equipped with two-tone leather upholstery in exclusive new colors and color patterns The available combinations are black/carrera red and black/luxor beige The exclusive two-tone leather interiors are refined by matching decorative stitching in the contrasting colors carrera red and luxor beige  The contrast stitching decorates the dashboard door panels seat backs and backs of the forward head restraints as well as the standard mats The two-tone upholstery is complemented by the interior package Carbon  which emphasises the high quality of the materials The front and rear head restraints come with an embossed Porsche logo The front door sill plates and the instrument cluster are marked with a distinguishing  turbo S  lettering The overall appearance of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S may be customised  further by optional carbon elements  such as the interior trim package Carbon Handles or the carbon multifunction steering wheel upon request
